Feick Builders  History

histor1.jpg (317723 bytes)In 1852, Adam Feick began designing and building in the Sandusky area. The initial focus of Adam Feick was construction in and around the northern Ohio area. Buildings at Oberlin College and Lake Erie Women’s College are examples of the company’s early work. In 1888, under the direction of Adam Feick’s son, John Adam Feick II, the firm began building in other regions of the country. The Wyoming Capitol Building, among others, helped establish a reputation as a national contractor. They built many of the churches and commercial buildings in the area.

In 1945 Edward L. Feick, an Architectural Engineer, established the current emphasis on design/build. John A. Feick III joined his father in 1973 and is the fifth generation Feick builder..

Many of the papers of the early history of the company are archived with the Center for Archival Collections - Feick Family Papers -  MS 681 at Bowling Green University along with a more in depth company and family history. More is also available at Feick History compiled by Anita Feick and Barbara Feick Gregory.
